BellLabs: Tomcat Insect Site

The Tomcat Insect Site was developed for Bell Labratories in the fall of 2009. This custom product catalog utilizes RadiantCMS with a highly customized extension that I created to allow for their home page to have it's JavaScript rotation. Having previously worked with Bell Laboratories the creation of this site went extremely smoothly. The end result is a beautiful product catalog/CMS hybrid showcasing Insect Control Products. Ajax drag and drop ordering of nearly all content on the site provides extreme flexibility during content display, and printer friendly style sheets allow for product pages to look good when printed.

This fully dynamic system allows for user defined input parameters that feed a proprietary scoring engine to derive a "health score" for each registered user. An extremely extensive web and PDF report that details nearly every aspect of the particular employees health is provided for each employee in his/her personal portal. Meetup When

I'm a member of the local ruby on rails group "The Madrailers". One of the things that seems ridiculous to me is what it takes to schedule a meeting. I realize there are a lot of people involved and that it's the coveted after business hours that we're limited to for the most part, but sending 30 emails around just didn't seem like a good solution to determining people's availability. That is why I created meetupwhen.com. The site is in it's infancy and it's open source and available on github, but I hope one day to approach the creators of meetup.com and see about integrating this as a service for their members.

This is the first project I have completed under my consulting business J2flyDesign.
